Tailwinds Advisory

Who this is for
The Reality
Tailwinds Advisory is built for leaders who are:
- Building or scaling a business—and feeling the weight that comes with it
- Facing decisions around growth, capital, transition, or succession
- Managing increasing complexity across people, capital, and priorities
- Navigating the shift from founder-led to leadership-team-led
- Looking for a trusted thought partner who brings perspective—not just process
We also work with select nonprofit leaders and ministry teams navigating growth, transition, or strategic decisions.
Some leaders engage us for a specific season or decision.

Others work with us over time as a steady outside voice—helping them see clearly when the stakes are high.
The Challenge
Growth brings complexity.
What worked when the business was smaller stops working. Decisions affect more people. The margin for error narrows. The line between business and personal life blurs.
It's easy to assume the answer is more effort, more hours, or more sacrifice. Often, what's actually needed is clarity. You can't read the label from inside the jar.We step in as a trusted thinking partner—close enough to understand the context, far enough to ask the questions that unlock clarity and forward motion.
Unbiased, grounded, and willing to name what matters when it's hard to see from the inside.

We've Been There
Tailwinds Advisory is led by people who've built businesses, navigated growth, raised capital, and walked through real transitions.
We're not consultants observing from the outside.
We've sat in the seat.
We know what it's like to carry responsibility—for teams, families, investors, and missions that matter. We've felt the tension between ambition and sustainability, between building and burnout. We've faced decisions where there wasn't a clear answer—only tradeoffs.
That lived experience shapes how we show up: thoughtful, direct, and clear-eyed.

honest Questions
What We Help With
Advisory relationships center on the real questions leaders face, including:
What does healthy growth look like at this stage? Faster—or steadier?
Is the team aligned on what actually matters—or just reacting to what's loudest?
Should we raise capital, bring on partners, or stay independent? What are the real tradeoffs?
How do we move from founder-led to leadership-team-led without becoming the bottleneck?
Is it time to sell, recapitalize, or keep building? How do we prepare for what's next without losing momentum?
How do we build something meaningful without sacrificing what matters most outside the business?
- Project-based work focused on a defined decision or season (for example: preparing for a sale, evaluating a capital raise, facilitating annual planning)
- Ongoing advisory relationships where we serve as a steady outside voice, engaged monthly or quarterly as strategic questions surface
Advisory fees are based on scope and duration—not products or outcomes.
We don't bill hourly. The goal isn't to track time; it's to bring clarity.
Most engagements are structured as:
- Fixed project fees for defined work
- Monthly or quarterly retainers for ongoing relationships
We're transparent about the investment before any work begins. Fees are discussed during the Clarity Visit, once we understand your situation and what would be most helpful.
There's no requirement to move assets, buy products, or commit to a long-term relationship.
The goal is simple: clear thinking, honest perspective, and trusted counsel—when it matters.
How Advisory Engagements Are Structured
Tailwinds Advisory is not a packaged program or a one-size-fits-all offering.
Some leaders come to us to think through a specific decision, opportunity, or transition. Others engage us over time as a trusted thought partner during a season of growth or complexity.
Because the work varies, advisory engagements are structured intentionally.
